Here’s a picture taken on January 7, 2008. This is of our pond on our farm in middle Georgia where we finally started getting decent rain about three weeks ago. You can see the man-made damn is about four feet above the water where it used to be just a few inches. Imagine what it was like a month earlier after experiencing the driest year in recorded history for Georgia.

The difference between now and a few weeks ago is this spring is starting to feed the pond again after being bone dry for most of the 2007.

The first photo is nice. Drought is everywhere indeed. It just shows the difference what a few days of rain can make.

I went back down to this pond in mid-April and it is now full again.
