In any case, i believe 2009 is a good year to harvest some stocks at bargain prices. Fortunately, I had a portion of investments in bonds, which helped the overall portfolio return, since bonds have had a postive return this year, due to principal gains and interest payments. Hopefully, 2009 will be a recovery year for equities :-) My stock portfolios have also done poorly this year.
