Current Holdings – July 31, 2009

I’m still not fully invested by a long shot, but I’m also still employed.  As crazy as my situation is here I’m not sure if today will be my last day or Monday or if something has changed and I’ll be extended through August.

My ALL puts are trading out of the money by almost $4.00.  My MON covered calls are almost $10 in the money and my USO puts are more than $3 out of the money.  That leaves me with a fairly boring account right now, but with room to really pour it on if I find something I like.  I posted a SPY chart yesterday morning and it continues to prove accurate with resistance holding the markets down on a broad basis.  With that belief in mind, I have a hard time putting more money at risk.  If I am unemployed next month I’ll be watching the markets much closer and deeper for better opportunities.  I don’t want to force a trade just because I’m anxious.

I’ll be posting a new group of stock picks this weekend that I’ve gathered from other bloggers.  Email me with any more picks you want me to include.
