I’ve been slow to open new positions since the first couple of puts I sold at the beginning of May. I was planning to let that be the beginning of my road to increased exposure, but with the tentative nature of the markets in May I’ve eased off of that plan. I only have three puts and one covered call set to expire this week. My AFL put is in the money right now and I could roll it out, but I’m thinking of taking the assignment and writing a covered call along with a new naked put (aka an option strangle). I don’t think either of the legs on my QCOM strangle will be assigned this week, so I’ll probably rewrite that same strangle for July expiration although I might bump the put strike up by $2.50. I’ll see how the next few days go before I make that decision. My BA put is far from being assigned. I want to see how the July premiums look before I jump in on it again. I’d like to see BA closer to $75 before I sell another out of the money naked put. I don’t see BA falling below $70 in the near-term, but have no need to rush into a new option contract.
