Stock Picks – August 3, 2009

I’m posting some new stock picks I’ve gathered over the past few days from other blogs and a few from today’s Barron’s.  If you have more stock picks you’d like to share, please email me (alex AT mytradersjournal.com) or post a comment below.

AKS – from The Wild Investor – his post includes bullish chart analysis for AK Steel

RWX and EWC – from Intelligent Speculator – his post gives reasons to go long EWC (iShares Canada) and short RSX (Market Vectors, Russia)

IBKR - Zach Stocks - his post focuses on the bullish outlook for Interactive Brokers

I grabbed a few ideas from Barron’s 8/3/09 edition.  You can find them on the following pages in the print edition:

  • AAP - On page 13 in the follow-up section, they think Advanced Auto Parts looks bullish from here
  • EBAY - On page 18, Michael Santoli wrote the bullish cover story on EBAY
  • EP  - On page M5, Fleming Meeks wrote a bullish article on El Paso Corp
  • PFE - On page 26, Johanna Bennett wrote a bullish piece on Pfizer
  • VIVDY - On page 16, Vito Racanelli wrote a bullish story on Vivendi

SPY – I posted a bearish SPY chart on my other blog citing resistance

USO – I also posted a bullish USO chart there too pointing out support which it found later that day

I’ll pick SDS at the Aug-3 close of $45.78 — 1st or last in this group. :-)
